Toronto-born artist Lori-Ann Bellissimo has exhibited widely internationally. She is recipient of several academic and public awards. Her work is part of esteemed collections such as Barclay’s Bank and the Gloria Vanderbilt Collection.
Formerly represented by Taksu in Singapore and Malaysia, she is currently represented by The Gallery At Star Hill, Malaysia. Formerly represented by Louise Lipman Fine Art and De Luca Fine Art, in Toronto, recently she has chosen to be independent until further notice. Between 2008 and 2010, she was invited to participate in three residencies in Malaysia and Singapore. She was the top selling foreign artist in Singapore for three years. In 2010 she moved to Rome where she painted free of the expectations of the marketplace and academia. In 2013 she returned to Canada and exhibited artwork made in Italy in the solo-exhibition “The Bigger Picture” (Toronto).
Featured in several international publications and media outlets, her personal sense of gratitude and achievement lies with the diverse cultures she has experienced; hitchhiking through Canada’s High Arctic; hunting with Inuit; attending university in the UK on scholarship and learning traditional healing methods from the Aboriginal people of Malaysia to name a few. Bellissimo also performs poetry, songs and studies Arabic Bellydance.
Bellissimo consistently exhibits her work in North America, Asia and Europe. Her work is collected in banks, corporate and private collections in Canada, the UK, the USA, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Italy.
