8-bit all star is an animation that explores the concept of nostalgia by using 8-bit style pixelated images reminiscent of the video game consoles that were popular during the 1980s. The subject image of the animation is also familiar, iconic, and nostalgic to many, the Converse All Star shoe.

In the animation, the image of the shoe transitions from a high res photo to a pixelated 8-bit style image and back on a short loop. The transition signifies several things: the triggers, accuracy, and clarity of memory recall, the feelings and objects associated with nostalgia, and the change in technology, and its uses, over the last several decades.

The work was created using a single still image that was altered to create several unique frames, which were then combined to create the animation.
